Meet Neil – Dog Trainer & Behaviourist in Prestatyn

From Corporate Management to Canine Behaviour Expert

After a successful 19-year career in Leisure & Retail Management, I realised I needed a change—one that aligned with my true passion: working with dogs.

My journey began when I joined my wife, Kim, in her business, Paws High Peak. What started as a dog grooming service expanded into home boarding and doggy daycare. Watching dogs thrive in our care inspired me to take my passion further and become a full-time dog trainer and behaviourist.

A Journey into Canine Behaviour & Science-Based Training

I fully committed myself to learning modern, reward training techniques, immersing myself in:

  • Hands-on training with experienced dog behaviourists

  • Specialist dog training courses & workshops

  • Volunteering with reactive and rescue dogs

📍 My training approach is built on positive reinforcement methods, ensuring that dogs learn in a way that is ethical, effective, and rewarding.

Professional Accreditations & Qualifications

I have continued to expand my knowledge and have achieved multiple professional qualifications:

  • Instructor Level Certification – The College of Scent Dogs (Now an Ambassador)

  • IMDT Level 5 Behaviourist Course – Completed in 2022

  • Certified Dog Trainer – Dog Training College, Completed in 2023

📍 My expertise lies in helping reactive dogs overcome fear-based aggression, guiding owners towards calmer, more confident relationships with their dogs.

My Training Philosophy

Every dog is unique, which is why I never use force, punishment, or aversive tools. Instead, I focus on:

  • Understanding why a dog behaves a certain way

  • Building confidence through structured training

  • Helping owners develop trust & communication with their dogs

It is my genuine passion to help dogs and their owners thrive. I look forward to supporting you and your dog on this journey.
